HUB not showing all photos in album.

Hi, We have a shared album on Google Photos which is linked to the photo player.

My wife has an iPhone, and the photos taken on her phone that are in the shared google photos album do not show up on google hub.   Photos taken on her old iPhone displayed fine.

It looks like all of her photos upload as .5Megapixel.  Could this be causing it?

Hi @CJohnson2024,

First I would like to thank you for posting in our community page, on the other hand I apologize for the inconvenience that you are having with your Google Hub. Let me tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try to fix the problem.

You're right, the low resolution of the photos might be the culprit for them not showing up on your Google Hub. Here are some possible explanations and solutions:

Possible Causes:

Google Hub Photo Filter: Some Google Hub models have a built-in filter that might exclude low-resolution photos from the slideshow.

Photo Syncing Settings: There could be a setting on your wife's iPhone that's uploading photos in a lower quality to save storage space.

Solutions:

Check Google Hub Photo Settings:

  • Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet.
  • Tap on your Nest Hub or smart display device.
  • Go to "Photo Frame" settings.
  • See if there's an option to adjust the photo filter or minimum resolution for displayed photos. (This option might vary depending on your specific Google Hub model)

Adjust Photo Upload Settings on iPhone:

  • Open the Google Photos app on your wife's iPhone.
  • Tap her profile picture in the top right corner.
  • Go to "Settings" and then "Backup & sync."
  • Make sure "Upload size" is set to "Original" or "High quality" instead of "Storage saver."

Resync Photos:

  • After adjusting the upload settings on the iPhone, delete the problematic photos from the shared album.
  • Have your wife re-upload the photos in their original quality.

Restart Devices:

  • Sometimes a simple restart of both your Google Hub and your wife's iPhone can resolve syncing issues.

Regards,

Mario.
