I decided to recalibrate my Nest Hub one day, and it says "calibration failed". I move the Nest Hub around, close curtains, turn off lights, and retry calibration. It fails again, so I move the Nest Hub a bit more. It's level with the mattress, about arm length away from the bed, pointing at torso and head, and there are no moving objects. However after 3 more tries it still doesn't calibrate.

Even though you've adjusted the position and minimized distractions, it's still failing. Here are some additional steps you can try:
