Sleep sensing keeps failing to calibrate

I decided to recalibrate my Nest Hub one day, and it says "calibration failed". I move the Nest Hub around, close curtains, turn off lights, and retry calibration. It fails again, so I move the Nest Hub a bit more. It's level with the mattress, about arm length away from the bed, pointing at torso and head, and there are no moving objects. However after 3 more tries it still doesn't calibrate.

Hi @karmayxzu,

I'm sorry that you are having a hard time trying to have your Nest Hub calibrated. It sounds like you've done a good job troubleshooting the Nest Hub calibration issue so far. Even though you've adjusted the position and minimized distractions, it's still failing. Here are some additional steps you can try:

  • Restart your Nest Hub: A simple restart can sometimes clear up glitches. Unplug the Nest Hub for a minute, then plug it back in and wait for it to boot up completely. Try recalibrating again after that.
  • Check for software updates: Make sure your Nest Hub is running the latest software. Outdated software can sometimes cause calibration problems. You can usually check for updates in the Google Home app settings for your device.
  • Reinstall the Google Home app: If a software update isn't available or doesn't fix the issue, try reinstalling the Google Home app on your phone or tablet. This can sometimes resolve app-related problems that might be interfering with calibration.

Additional tip: Here's a link to the Google Help article on Sleep Sensing issues, which has a troubleshooting section for calibration failures: Fix Sleep Sensing issues - Google Nest Help

Please try those steps and let us know if you were able to fix it.

Regards,
Josh
