Google Home App crashed or hangs when viewing wifi/devices

I have a lot of home automation bulbs outlets, switches, cameras etc.

All are configured for my Google nest wifi

When I try to go into the Google Home App and look at Wifi/Devices several things are amiss

1. Many devices do not state their connection status. It’s just blank

2. Many devices, when you select them and info, do not show what device they are connected too

3. When I try to scroll through the list of devices it constantly hangs and then jumps ahead. Other times it just crashes

4. Many devices end up connecting to a puck further away and it’s annoying. As their speeds/connection is slower or bad.

Hello, Florida Mike.

Sorry for the issues you have been experiencing with the Home app and its communication struggles with your devices and network. I know that can be quite frustrating to deal with. Let's look at what is going on and get this sorted out.

Sometimes when there are issues with communication, it can be a problem communicating with cloud services. If you could try turning those off and on again, it might help us progress with support here. Instructions for doing so are below.

Open the Google Home app.

Tap the WiFi icon.
Tap Settings.
Select Privacy settings.
Toggle Nest WiFi cloud services OFF and wait for 30 seconds, then back ON.

Once done, close the Home app and perform a full network restart to ensure that the new settings are in place. To do this, I would recommend doing a power cycle on your network.

Disconnect the power adapter and the Ethernet cable from the Nest WiFi router.
Disconnect the power adapter from the Nest WiFi points.
Disconnect the power adapter from the modem. Allow all devices to stay disconnected from the power for 5 minutes.
Connect the power back to the modem only and wait for it to fully back up. All lights should be lit up before moving to the next step.
After the modem is back online, connect the Ethernet cable back to Nest WiFi router's WAN port (globe symbol port).
Connect the power back to the Nest WiFi router and to the Nest WiFi points. Wait until they're all fully back on.
