how to remove Google Home app - have ZERO use for it!

The google Home App just appeared on my phone today and is trying to take over and make me install features I have ZERO us for - why did this happen? How do I get rid of it??!!

Please if any one knows how to remove it let me know asap. As stated I have ZERO use for it and no Nest and no speakers or any other product to use it with and no intentions of adding them.. It seems to have just invited itself on to my cell phone. it doesn't allow me to see or get to my installed apps as my icons are all missing/hidden

Hey Cindi,

We're sorry for the trouble this has caused you — let me help you out.

Have you tried reinstalling your Google Home app? Give these steps a try:

Open the Google Play Store app.
At the top right, tap the Profile icon.
Tap Manage apps & devices > Manage.
Tap the name of the app you want to delete.
Tap Uninstall.

I think you may have missed the point. I know how to reinstall etc. but I have no desire to reinstall it or repair it or any such thing. I do not want to keep as no devices needing connection now or future.
The problem is it has messed up my cell phone it's even screwed up my contacts list, I'm calling one person in my contacts and it dials somebody else's number!!
I called a friend yesterday and it called my lawyer! I didn't miss dial it just dialed them!

The main issue is I don't have any external devices to use this with, Speakers plugs anything, so it's pointless to have it installed at all AND it was forced upon my cell phone I could not reject and say no! there was no such option to Reject it! It just installed it. I don't need it I don't like it I want it gone.
Personally I see no benefits to having it on my cell phone, it makes everything harder to use and it doesn't help it.
The features that I had on my phone that I liked using, aren't there anymore either.
If uninstaller is run will it revert properly back to what I had? Or just really mess up my phone?!

Does ANYONE out there know how to get the Home app uninstalled and leave your phone intact???!!!
PLEASE let me know!!

I find no phone numbers or direct email to Google Help!

Hey Cindi,

We understand how frustrating this is for you. Default apps on your phone are based on the phone manufacturer. Try clearing the cache of your Google Home app and Google Play Services app. Also, try disabling it by going to your phone's settings, tap "App and Notifications", choose Google Home app, then disable.
