When I try to use my google home app to change the wife because I got new internet, it keeps saying unexpected response from server. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Hey gsloan,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delayed response.

If you're talking about the Google Home app, you don't need to change the Wi-Fi on it since it will depend on the connection of your phone. If you're referring to your Google Home or Google Nest speakers, you can use the steps below.

If both the existing and the new Wi-Fi networks are available.

Open the Google Home app.
Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
At the top right, tap Settings > Device information > Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi network listed is the network the device is currently connected to.
To change the Wi-Fi network, tap Forget > Forget network.
Go back to the home screen.
Tap Add.
Tap Set up device > complete the setup steps.

If the original Wi-Fi network is no longer available or accessible.

Attempt to set up your device to your new network.
If you're unable to set it up, try resetting your speakers or display..
