Change email - don't know password

My husband passed away in February - the entire nest system is linked to his gmail account. I need to change it to my email account but I have not been successful in figuring out how to substitute me for him in the platform.

Can this be accomplished without resetting the entire system - we have thermostat, lights, cameras and more set up in the google home nest system.

You could try contacting Google Nest Support (starting with this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp) to see whether they have any process for transferring his Google Nest account to you.

I am sorry to hear your husband passed away. 😯
To move the Nest device to another Google account everything needs to be reset. Please check THIS link for more information.

Another option could be to add your account to the Google / Nest family, but this requires access to the Nest App / Website or Google Home app.
