Google App won't connect to Google Home

I run 3 different Home spaces on the Google App. I'm trying to run a older Google Home in one of those. When I speak to the Google Home it tells me I have to download the Google App which is already on my cell. So I download the Device Utility App and run it with the network turned off as it requires, it finds the Google Home which is 15 feet away and i hit "Start" and I immediately get a error message "Could not connect to your Google Home. Make sure is is nearby and that you can connect to it." What's going on with this?

I have a similar problem which started when I deleted the older homes I had on my Google home app as I no longer live there. It's been working fine up to this point. When I talk it just says to log into the Google home app. But I'm already logged in. I think there's a glitch somewhere.

My Google Home just keeps telling me to download the Google Home App regardless of what's going on the cell and Google Home are both on the same network it's bloody frustrating and a complete circle jerk trying the get the older products to work properly.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: What is the make and model of the phone that you are using? Which Nest speaker? Did you try to fully reset your Nest speaker and set it up again as a new device?
