Can only access settings, not control

I have a problem I'm trying to resolve, I open home app and see my devices, but can only open settings, I am unable to control them via my device, I have other devices owned by family members that are able to control devices and see status, I can control the devises using google voice assistant but want to also control via the device buttons

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: is it happening to all your devices? Were there any recent changes made before the issue started? What is the make and model of the phone that you are using for your Google Home app? What steps have you tried so far?

You can check if your Google Home app needs updating by going to the App store if it's an iPhone or Playstore if it's android. If it's already up to date you can uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app, then observe if it will make a difference.

Hello Juni,

The device is a Tuya smart Garage door opener model TYLK-H1, google is fully up to date, phone is a Pixel 6, I have never been able to get it working correctly despite other phones including Pixel 6 phones being able to control the door, I had tried uninstall and reinstall but just tried it again and suddenly its working???

so thanks, I think for now my problem is solved.
