Today I finally discovered where in the Google Home app I could simply +Add a new “Other”device that I indicated was a new Device. As I progressed through the setup, the install process confirmed it was a doorbell and prompted for the Wifi network and password. I’m happy that it turned out to be that simple! Forget looking for a reset button on the doorbell itself which I couldn’t reach. I’m now able to manage the doorbell settings as before. Thanks everyone!

@AaronTW

The easiest thing to do--if you can manage it--is to set your network name (SSID) and password on the new router/modem to the same values used on the old router/modem. Unless your new router/modem comes with some of the new settings that don't seem to play well with Google Nest, you then shouldn't have to update any of your Google Nest devices. That's what we did when we got a new router/modem.

For both the older Google Nest Hello Doorbell and the newer 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, the mounting plate is mounted to the wall, and the doorbell can be released from that plate.

If you have the Google Nest Hello Doorbell, you MAY be able to change the Wi-Fi settings in the Google Nest app by going to Settings | Home info | Home Wi-Fi help. See the Nest app instructions in the link below:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9223711

If you can't do that, see about 6:25 on the video below. You can insert a paper clip in the small hole in the BOTTOM of the doorbell to release it:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247327

If you have the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, you can use a hex Allen wrench to unscrew the screw at the TOP of the doorbell, as shown at about 8:43 in the video below:

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/12570869
