Cannot access Home App

I have been using the home app for years. However, the latest update seems to have bricked the app. I get a splash screen welcoming me to the new app. However, when I click ‘next’ the app crashes.

ive attempted multiple reinstalls and restarts of phone with no success.

Try these steps:

Force close the Google Home app. Swipe up from the bottom, hold, then let go. Swipe up on the app. On older devices with a home button, double-click the Home button, then swipe up on the app.
Open any other Google app, such as the Gmail app.
Tap your profile photo or initials.
Tap "Manage accounts on this device".
Tap "Remove from this device" underneath your account and follow the steps.
Once you've removed your account, re-open the Google Home app and sign in again.

Hi all,

Thanks for checking in. I just tried the steps above with no success.

Another data point: I can get past the splash screen if I use a different google account which doesn't have my home setup or any devices. However, when I revert to my main google account same thing: welcome splash screen and crash when I tap button.

Are you using a personal Gmail account and not a Google Workspace one?

@Tjxlee, thanks for trying. Have you tried reinstalling the Google Home app? Or use the Web App (https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI ) and check if you’re able to log in with your old email address.
