Nest App > Google Home

We are long-time Nest thermostat and camera users. We are very happy with the Nest app, but unfortunately cannot add new generation cameras or no longer add "home users" without upgrading to the Google Home app.

I've had a second generation camera in my desk drawer for almost two years because at the time, the Google Home application simply didn't stack up to the original Nest app. My biggest gripe was that I like to review my captured videos on the big monitor attached to my Windows desktop.

Is there a test site I can go view to see how the Google Home app compares today? I don't want to "migrate" to check out the progress because there is no going back.

I understand the need for branding and product consolidation after the Nest acquisition, but unfortunately, in trying to reinvent the wheel, Google ended up with a bunch of flat tires. I'd like the opportunity to change my opinion, but not if the cost is giving up my original Nest account if Google Home is still lacking.

New cameras and thermostats can not be connected to old nest app and there is no method to make this work just migrate and all will be fine
