Control NuHeat Signature thermostat with presence sensing

I am running into trouble trying to edit my "Away" routine to adjust the thermostat on my NuHeat Signature floor heating. When clicking on "Add action", the app brings up a variety of devices, mainly smart plugs and lights, but unfortunately my thermostat is not listed.

If I create a new household routine (i.e. not use the default "Away" routine), the "Add action" menu is far, far more expansive and allows many more devices to be controlled, but unfortunately a regular routine cannot be activated using presence sensing.

I am trying to turn the floor heating thermostat on/off when I leave and return home. The "Away" routine currently adjusts my Nest thermostat accordingly, so it seems the concept is possible, but for some reason the "Away" routine is extremely limited.

How can I achieve the seemingly easy task of setting the NuHeat Signature thermostat value based on presence sensing?

(Before someone suggests it, presence sensing is already set up and working using my phone as a beacon.)

It sounds like the issue is that the default "Away" routine is limited in the devices it can control. Since presence sensing is already set up and working, you might consider setting up an automation that links a custom routine to activate based on presence, using a third-party app if supported by your setup. Alternatively, (check out) if NuHeat’s app or a compatible smart home hub can offer more control, allowing the thermostat to adjust based on your location.

Thank you for the response. As you suggest, the real issue here is Google's seemingly arbitrary decision to limit device control for the "Away" routine. IFTTT could be a potential solution, but it is fairly useless as a service these days as the free tier only allows two applets that I've already used and requires yet another app. The NuHeat app is extremely basic and does not support any presence sensing.

I discovered the Script Editor on the Google Home website and was able to build a seemingly working script using their AI tool. It's a bit early to declare it a success, but based on the execution logs, it seems to do what I expect. Unfortunately this is a very messy solution for what should be a simple task. The real solution is for Google to make improvements to the Google Home app, but it's fairly obvious that improving the app is not a priority for them.
