Google home, “Can’t send invite right now”

I am trying to add my wife to our google home. I was able to add her under the nest app, but with google home I keep getting the following error “can’t send invite right now, try again”

She has a google workspace account, and has a unique domain (#). I can add any email it seems, gmail or non gmail, except hers. How do I fix this? Switching accounts on her phone isn't an option.

Illnhave to return the hardware and go with another brand if my wife and I both cant use it.

You have to have a personal Google Account (gmail) in order to be invited to a Google Nest "home".

I don't know why Google Nest's error message doesn't just say that, instead of "Can't send invite now, try again."
