I can't add my wife's gmail to google home

I set up nest cameras and doorbell with no problems using google home on my phone. I then added my wife's gmail to our google home. She has a pending invite from me in the app, but when we click on it, it either spins forever or we get an error message - the caller does not have permission.

We have tried two different phones to no avail. Extremely frustrating.

Is your wife's account a normal personal Google account, not one issued for business use or issued by a place of work or education?

Yes, it's a personal Gmail, not corporate. She does have a corporate google email but we have not tried to add that per instructions. She uses multiple email addresses on her phone depending on the applications

Can you try removing that corporate account from the device then trying again?

I have tried it on two different phones. On her work phone I get that "the caller does not have permission" message and on the personal phone with just her personal Gmail, it just spins.

Extremely frustrating. I can't believe this is difficult fix for google

It is not practical to carry two phones. I have to be able to get it to work on her corporate phone using her personal gmail

Since this issue (judging from other posts) seems to be related to the use of a Google Workspace (non-gmail) account, maybe your wife could--on each of her phones--try temporarily log out of Google for all Google accounts EXCEPT the one to which you sent the Google Nest invitation, then try responding to the invitation to see if that will allow her to respond to the invitation, and then log back into the Google accounts she needs to use.

The only thing working is for me to use my Gmail on another phone and have her use that to monitor the house. It means she has to carry two phones. Not a good solution

I do not have a solution but I want to add that I have the same problem: I get the exact same error message if I try to add the account of my wife or the one of my daugther. Both are personal accounts. Tried on different phones with no luck. The Google Support was not very helpful: The only confirmed that this is a known bug and they working on a fix but neither they could say when this will be fixed nor could give me any hints what's causing this error. I did not understand what's so special about my setup that it is not possible to add family members.
