Galaxy Tab E needs updated Google Home for Chromecast Audio

How do I update my Home app from version 2.45.1.8 to version 3.30.1.6?

I have a Galaxy Tab E configured with Android 7.1.1 and need to upgrade the Home app to version 3.30.1.6 in order to get my Chromecast Audio working again.

When I connect to Google Play Store for an upgrade I get a note saying 'This app is no longer compatible with your device. Contact the developers for more info'.

Is there a workaround or do I give up my Chromecast Audio device?

OK. The suggested workaround enabled the Galaxy Tab E to cast to my Chromecast devices.

I contacted a friend with a relatively new Apple iPad to assist. We installed the Home App onto his iPad and discovered my two Chromecast devices (one for audio and one for tv). Updates from Google were applied automatically. Now my Galaxy Tab E casts to either device, as it did before the Chromecast outage.

Interesting to note, I had upgraded the gateway modem from my internet provider prior to making the Chromecast update. The new SSID login and password updates requested by the Chromecast devices were made from the iPad as well.

Unfortunately this is not a permanent solution. If either my Chromecast device, my Galaxy Tab E or my connection to the internet are disconnected and restarted, my friend with the iPad has to return to re-enable my Chromecast service.

I'll still have to eventually 'BRICK' my Chromecast Audio or replace my tablet.
