Turn off Gemini

I don’t know if we can but is it possible to turn off Gemini and go back to using only Google assistant on the home app? Put bluntly Gemini is awful and doesn’t even do everything Google assistant used to.

For the love of God. How can I remove gemini from my google home Mini. It takes forever to do anything. Much longer than the previous voice assistant. I've been using home mini for maybe 10 years and it's now worse than it's ever been. Please let me go back. Otherwise I'm just gonna switch to Alexa.

Thank you for posting in the community! I understand that you want to turn off the Gemini for Home voice assistant and return to using Google Assistant on the Google Home app, as Gemini for Home voice assistant doesn't yet have the features you expect from your assistant. I know how disappointing it is to lose access to features you enjoy, but no worries; I am here to help.

At this moment, switching back to Google Assistant is only possible on Android devices. If you are using an iOS device, please note that once you’ve migrated to the Gemini for Home voice assistant, it is not possible to revert. Please follow these steps to switch your assistant:

Open Assistant Settings in the Google Home app:

Open the Google Home app on your phone.
Tap on your Profile Picture or initials in the top-right corner.
Tap on Assistant settings. (This will open a sub-menu of your Google account's voice and assistant preferences).

Locate the Digital Assistant toggle:

Scroll down until you see the "All settings" list.
Look for "Digital Assistants from Google" (or in some regions, it may simply say "Gemini").
Tap on this option. You will see a toggle or a selection screen showing both Gemini and Google Assistant.

Select Google Assistant:

Select Google Assistant as your preferred digital assistant.
A confirmation pop-up will appear. Tap Switch to confirm that you want to go back to the classic version.

Bonjour,

J'ai activé Gemini sur mon application Google home pour pouvoir en profiter sur mon Google nest mini mais finalement je préfère l'ancien assistant Google car Gemini ne me retrouve plus les playlists que j'avais l'habitude de lui demander via Google assistant. Comment puis-je procéder pour retrouver l'assistant classique sur mon Google nest mini ?
