Quick Gestures on Google Hub Max Stopped Working

My Google Hub Max just stopped responding to quick gestures, and none of the advice for other Nest devices works, since the settings for the Nest Max are different. I am in the U.S., and Quick Gestures is turned on in my Google Home app. Any idea how I can get the device to respond to quick gestures again?
