I installed Nest two weeks ago. Since then I've had to restart it twice. What's the consensus on the best solution? A smart plug outlet? I'm getting frustrated at the unreliability of the set-up. I'm not in the home, which is the reason I installed it. Unplugging and plugging back in seems to work but is not ideal

Hi mgeller12,

Thanks for posting in the community!

I'm so sorry to hear that your Nest device keeps going offline; it sounds really frustrating. No worries; I'm here to help! Just to get started, I have a couple of questions that will allow me to provide the best solution for you. Can you please help me answer them?

Do you have a Nest Cam or a Nest Doorbell? What is the exact model?

How strong is the Wi-Fi signal where the device is located?

Does it show offline in the Nest or Google Home app or is it indicated on the Nest device?

Is the Wi-Fi router or access point within a reasonable range (1 to 15 meters) of between three and fifty feet from the Nest devices?

Has there been any recent change in the home Wi-Fi network?

If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!

Best regards,

Nery.
