Pixel PRO 9 XL no more notifications

Well it happened again, last year same time bought pixel 8 pro and installed new phone OS through setup and copied my data to new Pixel 8 Pro. Nest stopped sending notifications on Pixel 8 pro. Still get them on my old pixel 7a. There was no help whatsoever from Nest or Google. The ONLY fix and let me tell you this again ; NO OTHER FIX other than a factory reset without restore from backup made notifications come back to my pixel 8 Pro.

This year same story with my new Pixel 9 Pro. Still get the notifications on my Pixel 8 Pro but not Pixel 9 Pro anymore.

Clearly the issue is related to the restoring of data from older phone.

I don't want to do a factory reset again. Maybe this will ring a bell (pun intended) to Nest and Google there is something wrong with Nest notifications when restoring from a backup. Crossing fingers 🤞🏼 not to have to factory reset.

Hi Kinda,

I had the same problem but with a Galaxy S22 to a pixel 9XL. I found you need to clear the data and cache for the Google Home app, then uninstall and reinstall the app. I think we're getting locked out because of the notification permissions during the setup of the app.

Tried it but no sadly notifications are not coming back. I still use the Nest app and not Google home.

I used to get push notifications from my Arlo and another brand of security cameras. But no more. Checked permissions settings and as far as I can tell, I allowed all permissions.

Any solutions appreciated.

My notifications came back for nest. I think possibly turning notifications off in settings and back on fixed the issue.

I am having the same issue with my Pixel 9 Pro XL BUT, and it's a big but, my wife has not had any problems with her Pixel 9. We have just moved from Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 respectively. My Google doorbell is now useless to me. I didn't know if it was anything to do with Gemini replacing Google Assistant. Any solution that doesn't involve me factory resetting my phone would be greatly appreciated.

PS I noticed that TechSpurt on YouTube mentioned he had the same problem in his review of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

OK I uninstalled then re-installed the Google Home App and that seems to have worked.

Just need to sort out the weather app in at a glance and I'll be happy

I've reinstalled the Google home app still no notifications on my side as my notification comes from the best app not Google home

Make sure to clear the cache and data before uninstalling the app then reinstalling. All the settings remain in your phone if you don't and you don't get a fresh installation. Also, check your permissions as well and make sure something didn't transfer over wrong. I had a few apps get notifications blocked during transfer.

I would try this for the Nest app too and see if it wakes up.

Have you been able to do anything or have they started working again? I just got the pixel 9 and no Google home notifications or nest notifications. Tried re doing all the notification settings, restarting... Nothing works

Some notifications have returned after I did some turning notifications off.... Then on again. Some haven't. My Arlo security camera notifications still don't work. They did on the Pixel 8 Pro..

Got the video link. I'm desperate for answers. All my nest cam and doorbells are useless on my pixel 9 pro xl. Got an old pixel 3a receiving them so I know they are all working fine and it's something with the transfer from my 8 pro to my 9 pro xl

I know you said you're not using the home app but so did you try the procedure for the nest app? going to the app's properties clear the cache, clear the data. uninstall and reinstall. I just did this on the home app and got it working. I transferred from a pixel 8 pro to a pixel 9 pro XL

I have been experiencing the exact same thing on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold. No Nest notifications at all.

I have tried deleting all app data and reinstalling but that hasn't helped me.

After a Google search, it seems as though this is a wide issue.

The factory reset was on your phone to get the notifications working again? Pixel 9proxl has not been getting notifications and i really don't want to have to do a factory reset.
