topic Cannot Re-Add 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell to Google Home in Cameras and Doorbells

My 2nd generation wired Google Nest Doorbell inexplicably went offline. My Eero network still showed the device, but detected no streaming activity. After trying various troubleshooting measures unsuccessfully (though regrettably not a factory reset using the rear pinhole), I removed it from Google Home, thinking I could then simply re-add it, perhaps solving the problem.

That's where I'm stuck. Google Home doesn't see it. I tried using its QR code to re-install it as though it were new, but Google Home still does not see it.

I belatedly did do the factory reset via pinhole. After that, it reappeared in the Eero network, showing streaming activity. But it remains invisible to Google Home.

It does function as an analogue doorbell. Just won't stream video.

What am I missing?

I'm wondering how old is your doorbell? It turns out that even though you have this WIRED to power there is an internal battery that must be charged in order for the doorbell to operate. It could be that the battery is completely discharged. You might try removing the doorbell and bring in inside and charging it up using the cable it came with and the USB port on the side of the doorbell.

Thanks. The doorbell is three months old.

Hmmmmm, okay, I have the Eero routers as well and love them. So one thing you might try (if you haven't already) is to restart all the routers and then try adding the camera back again. The easiest way to do that is to go into the Eero app and go into the SETTINGS and then select NETWORK SETTINGS and at the bottom select "RESTART NETWORK". After about 3 minutes everything should come back on line.

After that I think your best option is to open an official support ticket with Google so that you can 'chat' or speak with a tech person. The good thing is since is less than a year old there is a good chance Google will replace it under the warranty if they can't help you get it up and running. Don't be afraid to ask for that if the trouble shooting is going no where.

Here is the link to open the support ticket....

Issue resolved! In attempting the factory re-set via rear pinhole, I was holding the pin in place for just five seconds instead of waiting for the tone to sound and the front light turn blue. Once that was done I was on my way. Thanks for the suggestions!
