My son has moved house and given me his two Google outdoor cameras. I have already been using Google home for my Nest Doorbell and Floodlight camera, with a degree of success after adding four Mesh Wifi Extenders.

Sadly I am having great difficulty in adding the Battery Nest camera. Ive tried at least a dozen times using different options to "add Device" and it continually fails to connect. I have factory reset the camera which initially shows a white diminishing light, then connect it to magnetic holder and connect the charge lead all as described, it then shows a green light.

In all I have wasted over 4 hours having tried all options (reboot server - switch on/off airplane mode - restart device and so on). There is some doubt over should I first connect the new camera to Google Nest before Adding new camera directly into Google Home. Intelligent it is not!

Problem solved at long last, after wasting so much time. I discovered that the reset button on the Camera body needed to be pressed for 15 seconds in order to create a full Factory reset. Having discovered this I was then able to add a third camera to google Home.
A great pity that the suggested “intelligent installation’ hadn’t pointed this feature out!
