Perfect...that's what I'm looking for. It appears I won't lose the Nest Home. I'll follow each step exactly and hopefully I'll be successful. No concerns with doing the setup, I remember a few key things from when I last did that.

Thank you sir!

I have both the 1st gen IQ outdoor cameras as well as the newer 2nd gen(?) Floodlight cameras. Both are wired. I will be creating a new network but all cameras are still on the old network. Reason for the new network is I need to do a factory reset on the XB8 router. I wanted to add a Guest Network, but Xfinity no longer allows that. So the tech showed me how and actually setup the 'split network'. Nothing but problems resulted. That's the sole reason for a hard reset on the XB8.

As I recall, I need to remove all the cameras from the old network first in order to avoid problems with setup on the new network. I intend to do that. I have already saved all the clips that I wanted to keep. I still use the old Nest home as well as the new Google home. Reason being I prefer the options on the old Nest home over the new Google Home for the Gen 1 cameras . All the cameras show on the new Google home but only the Floodlight cameras use the Google home controls. Gen 1 cameras have limited controls on the Google home. I DID NOT transfer the Gen 1 cameras to Google for that reason and do not want to. Hopefully I explained this correctly to be easily understood.

I have the Nest home and Google home apps on my laptop as well as my phone. That said...

1) Will I lose the Nest home if I remove the cameras from the apps?

2) Should I uninstall and reinstall both apps from the LT and Android s21 or leave them be?

3) Do I need to factory reset all the cameras including the Floodlight cameras prior to starting setup on the new network?

I did my best to explain what I am doing. Any additional tips or advice would be greatly appreciate!!

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all

BTW I absolutely love these cameras and want to be able to get them up and running ASAP after I reset the XB8 router

Wish it was that easy. As much as want to use the same ID & PW, I won't. The Xfinity tech switched my PW to being visible when he enabled the split network. So ne knows both and I do not trust anyone to access my network unless I allow it...especially that tech. There was more to what he did, but I didn't want to post it as it doesn't apply. I don't believe he hacked my network, but then why did I end up with several problems without changing anything. Some of it is above my abilities, so the easiest way for me is to factory reset the router with a new ID & PW, and reinstall the cameras and other devices. Hate to have to go through all the trouble, but its worth peace of mind.

My main concern is losing the old Nest Home. If I understand everything correctly, I won't. Trying my best to do my homework for both Gen cameras prior to resetting the router. Which left me with a few questions
