It's been "Live" and online and recording the whole time, and the battery--as it should--has never needed changing because the camera is running on household current.

If we unplug our camera--so it's running on battery power and in "Idle" mode--it does poorly at detecting events. I've seen posts from other customers reporting the same thing.

The optional power cable used for the battery camera uses a proprietary USB plug and is entirely different than the cable used for the IQ camera. The battery is not replaceable.

Hi

My 5 year old Wired Nest IQ cam has suddenly failed, it's not working (no LED light), I've confirmed its not the cable/connection or power supply so must assume its the Camera unit itself. Google support took me through the standard diagnosis but no joy. I very disappointed that my only option seems to be to buy a new camera.

I have the following questions;-

1) Is there any option to repair the camera unit?

2) Any suggestions for a suitable replacement (I would prefer not to have to replace the existing cabling), Nest or Nest Compatible devices

3) Any experience of the battery operated cameras, like how long the battery lasts and how easy to change the battery (I will be up a ladder)

Thanks

Neil
