Nest camera data usage

We have only satellite internet available, with severe data limitations and gating that also affect our streaming capabilities (and guest experience), and it seems like Nest cameras use a LOT of data. Assuming I want to subscribe to Nest Aware, so I can monitor short term rental guest activity in key outdoor areas, how can I minimize their data usage short of manually programming cameras off and on every single day/stay? TIA!

Only other option is to reduce the quality of the recorded video. In the device settings, you can reduce the bandwidth to “low” which uses roughly 30GB/month.
