Turn off doorbell chime on some home devices.

Is there anyway to select which devices the doorbell chime go to? I only want it to chime on a single home device not all six in my house. I bought this Doorbell for one feature, It will automatically display the person at my door on my home hub when they ring the doorbell. I do not want any other devices ringing and waking up my kids during nap time. I found the setting to turn off all notifications for all home devices but obviously that's not going to work for me.

Hopefully this is a feature that will be added at some point!

Neither of these is close to perfect, but just workarounds.

You might find the "Do Not Disturb" feature setting for each speaker handy. You could turn it on and off as needed. It can be set per speaker in the Google Home App. Downside - other notifications and broadcasts are also disabled.
Use multiple homes. The doorbell notifies all assistant speakers in the same house so creatively place speakers in a different home. This has some significant drawbacks depending on how the speakers are normally used - especially with other home automation devices.

Maybe somebody else has a good workaround or solution?

I've seen those suggestions. I just wanted to add to the pile in hopes that this will be addressed in an update.

I don't consider either of these solutions. I'm not sacrificing any useful features just because Google omitted a useful and obvious feature. It makes almost as much sense as telling me to unplug power to all the devices I don't want to chime. Please submit this as a suggestion for a new feature.

I bought a Google doorbell and returned it immediately after discovering that I could not select specific speakers to ring/not ring. It seems such a glaring omission. Like the OP I don't want the children woken from weekend lie-ins etc.

As soon as this feature is available, I'll consider buying again.

I think the Christmas jingles in near synchronisation across my house nearly drove me to the grinch hood. I would like this feature also.

I have the same issue I am not sure it is fixed I guess it would go like this -

As a user with nest doorbell and multiple nest hub product.

when I receive a doorbell notification

i want to be able to control what devices it plays through.

Yes, Brad, we want this as an update, alongside the ability to change the volume the chime occurs at on each speaker separate from main volume of each device. No, the issue is not resolved.

Not fixed Brad. Help is still needed in the form of an update that provides proper customisation of the doorbell ringer devices. The product is incomplete without it.

I would also like the ability to select which devices the visitor announcements play through. I have a 3 speakers on the first floor and definitely don't need all 3 playing the announcement. It's very annoying.

Same over here in Germany... I have 6 speakers (purchased another 3pcs Nest now) and ordered the Nest Doorbell with battery...
It doesn't make sense that there is no capability to select individual speakers...

Jumping in to echo just how frustrating this is. It would be one thing if my nest devices all chimed in unison (though still far from ideal) but instead I have eight devices playing at slight delays. It’s enough to drive you crazy. Is anybody at Google actually using their products? Seems like such a simple, logical fix.

Yes we all need assistance with this issue. The only way it's going to be fixed is if you add the feature to select what Google assistants chime because at the moment the whole house is a delayed chime. I only need it on one or two or lol
