Yes. I have no idea what else to try. Nothing looks broken or fried. But no lights, no doorbell when pressed, software indicates it is powered off and no indication as to what to do. I have cycled power. I have not disconnected it as that did not seem like it was necessary. But it is just over 5 years old. Is there a way to know if it is dead or are we all just guessing?

A few days ago the power went off for a few hours and then came back on as it had other times. This time the doorbell did not power up. I tried cycling the breaker which sent it power but the doorbell still will not power up. I have had it for 5 years and it is a wired unit.

Does anyone know how I can fix this or is the unit just dead?

I've got the same exact issue with a 4 year-old Nest wired doorbell and my multimeter says the unit is receiving more than adequate voltage. Can't find answers on any forums or YouTube searches.

Mine is just over 5 years old. I am getting the feeling that I am just going to have to replace it. It would be nice if there was something on support that would help determine this.

It sounds like your unit may have died, or malfunctioned. Because you are out of warranty, I am afraid I cannot offer you any assistance when it comes to a replacement, but I would attempt to try and check it with a multimeter to see whats going on with power, try to Factory Reset it and see if it responds.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi,

I recently had the same issue twice after a power-outage. The first time I thought it was related because of extreme cold weather and I simply took the unit back in my house and plug it in a USB charger and it came back to like. Yesterday the power went out again and this time it was fairly mild out there and I had to take the unit out again and bring it inside and connect it to a USB charger to bring it back to life. Removing the chime power didn't solve my problem and it seems unit has an internal battery (or a capacitor) to handle momentary power outage. I have this units for several years and was working flawlessly until then.

Regards,

Nicolas

Just let the battery die, and then charge it up again. You should be good after that.
