Basement camera will not install

Hi Folks. I have 3 nest cameras, all of which went offline last night during a storm. I got 2 of them back online with no problem and they're working fine. After all other fixes failed on the other one (located in my basement within 5 feet of the modem and router), I removed it from the network and attempted to re-install it as if it was new. After 7 tries, it finally shows the basement cam as an installed device, but is slowly pulsing blue and says , "The camera is offline". I have reset the modem and router, I've unplugged the camera, then plugged it back in and I've even moved the camera to a different position. Three hours is enough of my Saturday to screw around with this POS. Any ideas?

I had the exact same issue (after power outages) but with Nest Doorbell (wired). After 2 days (yes 2 full days of trying everything and dealing with Google support) I still couldn't get the doorbell to link back up. It wouldn't even reset.....and to top it off, just as I was taking it off for the millionth time to hook it up to usb I dropped it and it fell all the way down concrete steps.......SMASH!! So that was the end of my doorbell 😂 I ended up buying the battery version and it's working fab.

I know it doesn't help you but you aren't alone. I think if I could have managed to get the factory reset to actually work like it should I think it would have fixed my issue but we'll never know.

On a side note, pulsing blue usually means it's ready for the app to find the device, have you tried bringing the camera closer to one of the other cameras (not the router)?

Presume you've tried to factory reset:

Locate the reset pin between the cord and the support arm.
Press the pin once (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack).
Your camera will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.

Best of luck and hope you manage to get your camera reconnected (just don't drop it!)

Thanks very much for your reply. About an hour after I posted my problem, doing the EXACT same thing I had been doing for hours, the camera finally "found" the outstanding WiFi signal originating 5 feet from it and decided to come back on. I guess I'm happy with my Nest thermostat and wired doorbell/camera, but these interior cameras have been, at times, total pains in the ass. They'll drop out for a couple of hours, with no power interruption whatsoever, then magically come back on all by themselves. Very irritating. Have a good day!
