Nest hello suddenly won't stay online

I have had this wired nest hello for a couple of years with no problems.

Now, starting yesterday, it will not stay online. I reset it and it stays online for several minutes to an hour, then back offline again. The nest appears to have power. I have the physical doorbell ringer disabled in the nest, so no ring there. Nothing has changed here. Same wifi, same router, same locations, same broadband provider and plan. Could the doorbell transformer be worn out and not producing enough juice anymore? Does that even happen?
