@SteveAN

We have Google Nest Outdoor Cameras (and one Google Nest Camera (Battery) mounted on the side of our house or garage, with the view angled towards the side. The magnetic mount allows you to mount it to pick up the side of the building. However, you do have a trade-off when you decide on the angle. Angling the camera too close to the side of the building results in a curved distortion of the side of the building as well as reflection off the building, especially with the infrared night vision. We get the best results by positioning the camera so that it picks up just a little of the side of the building.

By the way, if you get the Google Nest Camera (Battery) (unfortunately, the Google Nest Outdoor Camera is no longer available), I'd suggest buying the optional power cable and having it plugged in all the time. Running on battery power has too many drawbacks.

Outdoor camera sideways angle?

I'd like to get an outdoor camera to monitor my garden and gate. The gate in on the side not at the end.

I've seen pictures of the Nest Outdoor Camera being angled up or down, nothing side to side. To what degree can the camera be angled sideways?

Can it be angled enough to see along the wall it is mounted on?

Regards

Steve
