Nest camera does not appear in Nest App; Cannot view or edit history for new Cameras

Hello,

I just purchased two additional cameras. These cameras cannot be viewed in the nest app, online, and I cannot view the history of the cameras. I cannot edit the subscription for these cameras. When does Google plan to address these issues. I understand that I must use the Google Home App, but this app does not allow me the functionality of the Nest App. I'm looking for answers to the timeline and/or a solution from the Google Team to resolve this issue with an Updated Google Home App or a way to incorporate the new cameras in to the Nest App, the latter is the preferred solution.

A lot of us customers are waiting for Google Nest's answers to your questions. We purchased a Google Nest Camera (Battery) six months ago, but there hasn't been any update since this Sept. 29, 2021 posting by Rishi Chandra, the GM/VP of Google Nest:

Thank you @MplsCustomer, I appreciate your response. This is such an unresolved issue that needs to be addressed by Google or Nest.

I have seen previous posts, but those posts have been since locked. I decided to ask again as I could not reply to the previous thread. This seems like a way to silence customers from speaking of the issues while still profiting from them. If I would have known of this, I'm not sure I would have made the same purchase a few weeks ago.

In early Sept. 2021 we bought a Google Nest Camera (Battery) because Google quit selling the Google Nest Outdoor Camera the week before, thinking that--as a new camera--it would have additional functionality. Instead, it has less. Fortunately, we also bought the optional power cable, or we'd also be plagued by many of the other issues reported here due to having an "Idle" camera.

I also got caught up in this and purchased the new cams when they first came out about 6 months ago. When I discovered this major issue I returned the cameras and bought some used (previous-gen) cameras from eBay. I'm a happy camper. It has been 6 months and I wouldn't hold my breath that we will see anything soon from Google Home. And even if they do release an update it seems unlikely that they will have all the features that the NEST app has.

Such a sad situtation.

Found myself in the same situation, returned the new "nest" cameras for a refund. C'mon Google with your billions of $$$$$, your leaving millions of customers stranded like this! Bring back compatibility with the Nest App. The new google nest cameras suck with the google home app.

I would not count on a response from Google anytime soon. As far as they are concerned they have already responded with "new features coming to the Googe Home app in 2022".

So, Google. Is there an ETA on when this enhancement will be deployed to the Nest app?

Selling the Nest battery powered cameras and doorbells and not allowing them to be added to the paid Nest Aware services is a feature that should have been addressed before the release of these battery powered devices. Seems to be a good way to have a service offering that allows Google to have restricts the customer is unaware of that allows the company to reduce service resource requirements. These devices should not be sold as Nest devices.
