Nest Hello mounting bracket incorrectly installed

I need to remove my Nest Hello but the installer placed the mounting hole on top and when I insert the removal tool into the hole, there is nothing to release. Before I use a small straight edge screwdriver to force it out, anyone have a suggestion?

Sorry to hear about that. Once you're able to remove the Nest Doorbell, I would suggest putting the mounting plate in the right orientation to avoid any issues in removing it.
