Nest Cam Battery rapidly draining in certain locations around my house

I recently got a nest cam battery 3-pack. I set up one mount in the back yard and one mount in the front yard. I did not install the third mount (yet). Any camera that is placed in the back yard mount will last multiple months before needing a recharge. Any camera placed inside on my counter will also last multiple months before needing a recharge. Any camera placed in the front yard mount will only last a few days before needing a recharge.

Because of trees and other foliage, a camera placed in the front yard mount only gets a few events every day, at most. A camera placed in the back yard mount or on my counter gets significantly more events every day. In my location, nighttime temperatures right now only get as low as 45 degrees Fahrenheit, so I doubt this is due to the low temperature issues that other users are experiencing.

I've switched out the cameras and tested each one and it seems that purely the location of the camera is what's causing rapid battery drain. I haven't owned my current house very long, but I believe there may be a metal plate or wiring in the wall where I set up the front yard mount. I'm no electrician, but could this somehow be interfering with the battery through some induced current? I don't know what else could be causing the rapid battery drain, but any advice would be helpful.

Have you made any adjustments to your settings to reduce battery loss? Here is a great article that will go over those choices that you can make to ensure that your device will save a some battery.

I have looked at that article before. I currently have all the settings on default. However, even that article states that a camera that records a lot of events (25-30 per day) should last about a month. Any camera in my front yard mount only gets 1-2 events per day and still only lasts about a week. If I keep all the settings the same and move the camera away from my front yard mount, the number of events increases and the battery life increases

So my question is, are there any known external factors (besides temperature) that can cause rapid battery drain? Such as electrical or magnetic interference.

Have you considered setting up Activity Zones if your camera is recording too many events? It could reduce them in a certain area if you know you get more traffic in a specific area in view of your camera.
