Next doorbell

We recently closed escrow on a home and it has the nest doorbell camera. We want to 1) make sure the old home owners don’t have access to it anymore and 2) connect to it ourselves. I attempted to try and connect it with the Google home app, but we need a QR code or a PIN. Is there a way to connect to it without those things? Is there a code on the physical doorbell that I can find… like if I remove it or something? Or are we out of luck and need to purchase a new one?

There is a QR code on the back of the Nest Doorbell itself, you should be able to use, I do not know, however, if that ensures that noone else is watching.

In addition to finding the QR code, you may also need to have the previous owner remove the doorbell from their account. Here's what Google Nest Help says: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9249728?hl=en

And this "Moving guide for Nest devices" Google Nest Help page says the previous owner must first remove the camera before doing a factory reset: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/11151047?hl=en

But some customers in this forum have suggested that you can perform a full factory reset to get the doorbell working for you even if the previous owner hasn't removed the doorbell from your account. I can't find a definitive answer from Google Nest on whether this will succeed.
