Camera notifications on Android TV

I have two Next cams of different generations which mean I still have both the Nest App and the Google Home App on my iPad and iPhone to get reasonable functionality.

Is there anyway to get camera notifications appear on my Sony Android TV? There is a Nest App on the Playstore but it won’t let me sign in with either my Google or old Nest account details. There is no actual Home app.

I have found some instructions for something called Google home assistant that imply it could be possible. But I can’t find anything that matches under settings in the iOS Home app.

any ideas?

Hey Turnbacktime,

If your cameras are set up in the Google Home app, you need to download it on your Android TV so you can receive a notification. Check out this link for additional help.

That link didn’t really mention anything about Google Home on Android TV. And when I go to Play Store in the TV I can’t find the Google Home app to download. I can find the Nest app but they rejects my login.

I still haven’t found out if it is possible to run Google Home on an Android TV or get the notifications repeated there somehow.

Yes, you should be able to use Google Home on Android TV. Specifics per tv, I do not know, but it is generally available on Android TV.

I can’t find it on Play Store, do you have to side load it via a web browser? Lots of support material about using Google Hime to control a TV? None about actually running it on Android TV.
