Nest Camera historic videos are frozen and will not play

The best can says it took video when events triggered it; however, they are just still shots and the videos will not play (they are frozen). I’m unsure whether my live feed is also frozen. This appears to be a documented problem from the latest updates; however, there is no solution provided.

It depends on which camera you have and whether you have a Nest Aware subscription.

"If you have a newer camera like Nest Cam (battery) or Nest Doorbell (battery) [cameras released since the fall of 2021], you can get up to 3 hours of event video history without a subscription." [These are events that occurred within the most recent 3 hours.]

"But for most older Nest camera and doorbell models, you need a Nest Aware subscription to get event video history or 24/7 video history. This means that without a subscription, you can get photo snapshots of detected activity up to 3 hours in the past." [This is activity that occurred within the most recent 3 hours.]

If you have a Nest Aware subscription and are only getting still shots and not videos, you could try selecting the "Contact us" link on this page to get access to 24/7 "Nest Aware Premier Care"
