Outdoor Nest Camera Wire Insulation Disintegrating

Has anyone found an easy repair for the wire insulation disintegrating? I took my camera down this week in preparation to move, and all the insulation is flaking off in my hands. The internal wires look intact, and the camera was still functioning when I took it down. It's 3 years old so no longer covered under warranty. If this is the quality I can expect, I'm not going to spend money on another replacement camera
