Doorbell/Nest protect

In looking for a way to get my newly bought nest doorbell to connect to my newly bought nest protect smokealarms. Cant find a way to get the alarms to signal when someone rings. I thought for sure that was a possibility(?)

Just found a thread from about a year ago where someone asked the same question, however the thread is closed. Have there not been any development? It seems like a no-brainer to me.

I'd suggest you send feedback about this using this form to let the Google Engineering team know about this. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Also, Nest doorbell can connect to the Nest mini speakers and Nest hub.
