Nest Hub streaming Nest Doorbell, no visitor announcements (Gen2, wired)

Hi. We just installed a new Nest Doorbell (wired, Gen2) and a Nest Hub. We don't receive announcements in the Hub when the doorbell is rung. The hub can stream however video from the front door and the camera works, and the doorbell rings at the camera. And we do receive the announcements in the Google Home app on the iPhone. All settings in instructions are correct according to app instructions (enable notifications, doorbell and hub in same home on Home app, allow personal results, even downloaded and activated Google Assistant app on phone). Nothing. We need help trouble shooting and fixing this. I found other users having this issue with no solution found and the threads closed. Thanks in advance!

Even went the nuclear option and disconnected and reset everything to factory settings, and reinstalled, checked all settings... still no announcements.

I have the same issue with the battery nest doorbell. It's connected and you can access the live feed via the hub but when you ring the doorbell it's not showing on the hub. Any help appreciated!

I just reset to factory settings and it worked using this post. One more thing, just make sure when setting up again on the home app you toggle "visitor announcements" to on. It's automatically on off for some reason.
