Nest Cam starts Phone Call in Car

I Know many other have same issue .. My nest cam make a phone call in my car when i open the App to check our dog´s activity at home ... only way to disconnect the phonecall is to close the app completely or disconnect bluetooth connection .. this is very annoying ... Why does it do this ? is there somewhere you can control which media or connection type is allowed when using the app ??? .. happens Both in my Porsche and Audi ... phone is Samsung S22

I have the same problem except with my Galaxy Watch 5 the audio on the feed of the camera doesn't play right. Only after I close the app does audio work as expected. Some reason the Nest feed plays through Call volume instead of Media.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. This is honestly the first time I have seen this sort of situation. I would recommend restarting your device, and check out your settings to make sure it is set up correctly. Also, you can turn off the Talk and Listen feature as well as muting it as well. Do you have the option to mute it when it happens?

It has nothing to with my phone settings .. many people have the same problems if you google it .. so it is an APP problem .. it default uses the phone connection when you activate camera view

I have same problem.

When I activate the Nest cam App in my car, car calls to my phone number and can't stop it.

Only way to reset is turn off the car.

Oh my gosh I just bought my nest camera today and am having exactly this problem. Got into my car, opened app to make sure dog wasn't barking at my departure and for the entire duration of my journey the app kept forcing a call via my mobile handsfree. No matter how often I hit end call it continuously reopened. Extremely frustrating.

Glad to know I am not the only one. I close out everything and my car will still show I am calling myself. The only way to stop it is to turn the bluetooth off. Which can be frustrating. I hope they can fix this bug in the app.

A week after my request to join Google piblic preview, I was accepted and it fixed the issue with the app starting phone call in car. I am using Samsung S22 phone.

It seems the new goggle home update fixed the issue on my note10+..no more force stopping it for now
