Just one quick final check in here since activity has slowed down. We would suggest you to try changing the position of your camera or changing the LED light or changing the position of the LED light as well. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

The doorbell I am using is 2nd generation wired that I install two weeks ago and has been working well.

I just replaced a broken LED security light work a new light today that is mounted over my back doorway.

Tonight I have noticed when the LED lights come on the video from the doorbell camera becomes distorted.
The best I can describe it as being six brand of alternating negative and overstated white that move slowly across the screen.
When the light goes off the bands disappear.

Does anyone have any idea how the LED lights are causing this?

The lights that they replaced were also LED but were from 10 years ago.

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi folks,

@Ninramster were you able to perform a simple restart to your Nest doorbell? If so, you may post here your update.

This happens when the refresh frequency of the light source is close to the exposure rate of the camera. You can also try these steps:

If the light can be dimmed, set the brightness to a different level.

If possible, test a different brand and power level of light.

Adjust the camera field of view away from the light source.

Clean the camera lens.

To clean the body, simply wipe it down with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.

To clean the lens, gently wipe away any dust with a soft lint-free cloth. Eyeglass and optics cleaning cloths are ideal to remove dust and oily fingerprints and they don't damage lens coatings. Customers can also use a compressed air duster made for electronics.

For tougher smudges, like oily fingerprints on the lens, use a damp cloth with a drop of cleaning solution that’s made for cameras, eyeglasses, and other optics.

Looking forward to your response.

I appreciate the help, Brad.

Regards,
Emerson
