Do i need the chime puck on the battery doorbell?

So from the videos i've seen, apparently theres a chime puck on the wired version of the doorbells. But if i wanna use the wired installation on the battery doorbell, do i need a chime puck?

The battery doorbell does not use a "chime puck" and does not come with one, even when wired. Unlike Google Nest's wired doorbells, which use a "chime puck" or "chime connector" to provide continuous power to the doorbell's camera, the battery doorbell, when wired, still runs off of battery power only, and the battery is trickle-charged through the doorbell wires without use of a "chime puck".

Thank you for all of your help on this thread, @MplsCustomer. Glad to hear you're interested in the 2nd gen Nest doorbell. You will definitely need the chime puck as part of the installation of your device. You do not use a chime with the Nest Doorbell (battery). Here is a great article on how to install your device and the chime puck. Please let me know how it goes.
