Which is better?

Looking at the video settings, you can select between "Max" and "High". Which of those two settings is the better one? It would help if you put resolution numbers under or next to each so that we have an idea of what we are choosing.

The Google Nest help center describes these settings as...

High settings uses less bandwidth.
Max settings uses more bandwidth.

Thanks for checking in. I do see a reply that explains the difference between high and max. Am I to assume that max is also the higher resolution?

Yes, the Max settings are better quality but will use up much more energy. If you have a battery powered device, you may want to pick the lower of the two.

I have it set up with a solar panel to keep the battery charged. Will that make a difference?

Hey mdwash33,

Thanks for your patience. That’s a good question! As long as your camera is plugged in and you set the video settings to Max it’ll maintain the video quality and that makes a difference in terms of power sustainability, compared when it’s battery powered where it won’t last long as it affects the video quality when it gets low.
