Doorbell notifies my phone, but will NOT ring the chime

Recently installed a Google Nest Doorbell (wired, Gen 2), and it will notify my phone, and show me live video, etc., but will not ring my indoor chime. I checked the transformer and it meets specifications (16 Volts and 10 VA). The hammer in the chime will move, but barely. My old doorbell rang the chime fine before installation of the Nest Doorbell. I am thinking it is not getting enough power, despite meeting minimum specifications.

Is there anyone with some insight on what might be the problem? Do I need to replace/upgrade the transformer, by chance? Concerns with that?

10VA is the minimum. When we added a second Nest Nello doorbell a couple of years ago, we upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer.

Hi Brad,

Yes, I do still need help. I don't have two Nest Hello Doorbells, like MplsCustomer does. I have one of what I described above, and I meet minimum specifications for adequate performance for that one doorbell. It should work properly. Yet my doorbell still will not ring my chime, the live video is intermittent, and notifications are sometimes very delayed. My mobile phone gets a good WiFi signal at the doorbell, so I'm not terribly concerned that it is my network. Why might my doorbell not be working correctly even with an adequately-powered transformer?

If my Nest doorbell is battery powered, can it ring on my phone and google speaker. I believe I have seen that it doesn't ring. That is a ridiculous outcome if that is the case. Is here any plan to update this functionality.

You definitely can receive notifications regarding a doorbell notification if you set up a smart display or speaker with your Nest Doorbell (battery). Please make sure that Visitor Announcements is enabled in your settings, and test your devices to make sure they are connected and working as intended. You can learn more here.

Well, installed a 16 volt, 30 VA transformer. That seems to have done the trick. Even though I met minimum specifications for what should have worked for this doorbell, it still needed a transformer upgrade.
