Why can't I get audible notifications on my Google phone or Google Nest Hub when "human detection"?

Hey All,

Trying to figure something out while reviewing my security camera setup at home. I have tested many cameras over the years and my Nest cameras have always worked but I can't for the life of me figure out how to have audible notifications on my Google Pixel phone or Google Nest Hub in case of "human detection". This sounds, no pun intended, as something that should be a doddle... yet I still haven't figured it out.

Oddly, with cheaper cameras I can easily achieve this and I can have an Echo Show display text/audible notifications and show a feed (even of Nest Cameras)... but no Nest Camera notifications unfortunately.

Any tips would be much appreciated

Thank you for your message, unfortunately that is a very generic reply to a very specific question.
I am perfectly capable of going through my app's settings and reading Google's Support pages... however, I still don't know how to have audible notifications of my Nest Cameras on my Google Nest Hub.

Sounds like something that should be straightforward.

This basically is the reason I have stopped investing in Nest Cameras, while I am fully Google-fied at home.

I can achieve what I need to with a cheap Amazon Echo Show device and third party cameras. So why can't I achieve this in the Google's ecosystem. That just boggles the mind.

@GregTNT, I'm afraid this feature is not available. The other option that we have that could compare to what you wanted is the announcement or notification between the Nest app on your phone, Nest speakers/displays, and Nest Doorbells. You can check out this link for more information.
