Notifications for Google Nest Camera (Battery) go to iPad but NOT iPhones

Push notifications for people events on our Google Nest Battery Camera--configured in the Google Home app--get sent to my iPad, but NOT to either of our iPhones. Push notifications for our older Nest cameras and doorbells--configured in the Google Nest app--get sent to both of our iPhones and my iPad and continue to work just fine.

In the Google Home app, for each person in our household, under Settings | Seen Events, "Your notifications" is turned on for "People" and under Settings | Notifications, "Push notifications" is turned on. My son has had these settings enabled for months and has never gotten a Google Home notification for the Google Nest Battery Camera. I just enabled "Your notifications" for "People" and started to get notifications on my iPad but NOT on my iPhone.

I tried deleting and reinstalling the Google Home app on my iPhone. At first it seemed to not make a difference, but I discovered I also had to re-enable Notifications in the Google Home app. Once I did that, the two test events I had triggered then showed up on the iPhone with the "Leave On" message that IOS now displays sometimes with "Time Sensitive" notifications. (The Google Home app, unlike the Google Nest app, labels camera notifications as "Time Sensitive".)
