Can’t turn on Motion notifications on 2 nest cams

I am unable to turn on my notifications for motion on 2 out of 4 nest cams. When I “checkmark” it, the screen loads and removes the checkmark. Is this only because I don’t have nest aware (yet)? My doorbell and my indoor nest cam both let me turn this notification on.
