Indoor camera speak too low to be heard

Just purchased a new wired indoor camera. Everything seems to work except the camera speaker. The chime sounds loudly when the speaker is activated, but the volume is too low to be heard even while standing next to the camera. The microphone volume is fine (e.g. what I can hear remotely is fine). Is there a volume adjustment somewhere?
