i have the new nest camera (battery) and I would like to know if it will ever be on the Nest app. I prefer to use that over the google home app for convenience.

I think it is misleading and even fraudulent for Google to call this new Google Nest Camera Battery a "Nest" camera. This new "Nest" camera (which we purchased 5 days ago) cannot be accessed from the "Nest" app or from the Home Nest website on our computer. Further, it is missing the Enhance zoom and scheduling capabilities present in existing Nest cameras.

Hi brad,

restarting the camera didn’t help. I tried checking to see if there were any app updates but there weren’t

quesiton is whether the nest app will support these cameras at any point in the future.

We totally understand the desire of wanting to use one app over the other, and I hope I can provide some clarity into that. Unfortunately, as of now, we don't have any updates as to if they are going to make the change in apps. We understand that some people have their preference, and I'm happy to submit the feedback for us.

This is not a matter of "preference" or "wanting to use one app over the other". It's the fact that Google has forced all existing owners of Google Nest cameras and doorbells who purchase the new camera or doorbell to use BOTH the Google Nest app AND the Google Home app. Google CHOSE to not add the new camera and doorbell to the existing Google Nest app and the Home Nest website, AND CHOSE to not add full support for existing Google Nest cameras and doorbells to the Google Home app, AND CHOSE to not port existing Google Nest app capabilities over to the Google Home app. So, we cannot use just the Google Nest app, or the Google Home app, or the Home Nest website, regardless of our preferences.

For Google to now say "we don't have any updates as to if they are going to make changes in apps" is inexcusable. There should be an all-hands-on-deck effort at Google to correct the poor management choices and shortcuts behind this flawed rollout.
