When the HELL are the geniuses at Google (they really are, so this CAN'T be hard) going to put in the tiny effort it takes to allow us to update the WiFi network of the Nest Cam battery in the Home app WITHOUT having to factory reset the stupid thing and lose all your video? This is BEYOND stupid. I want to change mine over to my 5G network, but don't want to go through needless hassle to do it and lose my saved video. It's 2023 - be better, Google. Literally everyone else has already figured this out.

So far ive had 1.5 years of ongoing grief with the battery cams. Now i cant even view any events at all after the last play store update to the home app. The app just doesn't load at all and if it does briefly it just disappears almost instantly. Totally unusable at this stage. I just want a refund for my cameras and to buy a system that works.

How did you get the wifi on your camera after getting the new modem? I cant figure it out

Hi Coondini,

Wi-Fi information for cameras and doorbells can’t be updated, so you’ll need to factory reset your device and set it up again in the app. Usually, you’ll remove your device from the app and add it back. So, please let our product team know about it by sending feedback.

@Anonymous, a few questions: what type of Nest camera do you have? Is all of your history missing or just certain portions? Lastly, do you have a Nest Aware subscription? If so, what type of Nest Aware subscription do you have?

@Losiaks and Mvenuto1, I found an article that you can follow on how to change the WiFi network of your Nest Camera.

Which is NOT ACCEPTABLE. There is ZERO REASON Google can't figure out how to update the WiFi network without having to completely delete and re-add the camera. NONE. PERIOD.

Battery cameras. 30 day event. Don't know cant view any event history at all. Nothing at all the app is not functional
