Outdoor nest cam with battery, battery won't charge, hard wired nest floodlight cam won't charge

I have a nest floodlight that the battery won't charge. I already tried factory reset and adjusting all the batter/video settings. Factory reset didn't work either.

Is there a way to replace the battery?

Is there a company that can replace the battery?

How can I get google to replace it when they say it's out of warranty? (it was only installed a year ago because it sat for a long time before it was installed)

Maybe the battery drained before it was installed. Is the USB plug seated firmly in the bottom of the camera with the cord feeding towards the front of the camera?

Regarding your other questions, we have the battery camera (basically the same camera) and the battery is not replaceable.

Google Nest generally does not replace devices after the 1-year warranty, but you could try contacting Support to see what they say:

The cable is plugged in correctly and all that.
The device was working fine for most of the year, just started failing within the last month.
I did contact support and they had nothing to try other than factory reset. And they said they won't replace it because it's outside of the warranty.

The floodlight camera, like the battery camera, is supposed to run off of household current:

"For wired installation setups with a Nest Cam (battery), the wires power the camera directly."

In fact, the product information on the Google Store for the floodlight camera does not even mention that it has a battery.

This is simply not true. The nest cameras with battery do require an active battery to operate. If the battery is completely dead, it won't turn on even when plugged in to a hard wired connection like the one built into the nest floodlight.

I can sympathize with you 100% the products are garbage... I purchased a 5 year extended warranty on the cams because of previous electrical products prematurely failing. Its hilarious as i have an extended warranty yet the battery cams have never worked as advertised. Hilarious because i have a 5 year extended warranty on a product that is in no way fit for puroose at all whatsover theyve never worked properly in over a year. For the last 2.5 weeks i cannot use the cams or the home app the whole associated home app is up the wazoo since the last 2 play store updates... What was i thinking buying google products i ask myself this every day. I might return them to the dept store via their window soon haha.

I understand that the battery cameras need an active battery to operate. What I was trying to say was that, since they run off of household current, there should be no reason for the battery to deplete. What happened to your camera simply should not happen unless there's some sort of defect.

Oh okay, yea I agree. Completely unacceptable. I had a certified electrician install this and I've used it properly and it's already completely dead. Must be a defect but they won't replace it. crazy. I've literally bought about $10k worth of google products most of them smart home stuff. Can't believe they won't honor it for me.
